so some dude spit on me and called me a tranny at the bus stop on my way home from work today. I was waiting for my bus and he spit on me while he was walking by. There were two other women and a man at the bus stop too and they saw but didn’t do or say anything.
I don’t know what it is about austin but every time I use public transportation here I get the worst harassment I’ve ever experienced taking the bus in any city. my car finally broke down last week (the hybrid battery completely died and costs $6000 to fix) and I’ve been trying to get by but I cant keep doing this. I was just displaced from my previous unsafe home and due to the expensive move I am barely scraping by with the funds that I have right now.
i feel completely helpless without a safe means of transportation. I’ve been harassed, verbally assaulted, photographed without my permission almost every day this week. I’ve been experiencing panic attacks before leaving my home and while taking the bus and I can’t miss anymore work without losing my job.
